“These works are from a series called “Cultural Salvage” in which collages are constructed from collected paint scrapings, plaster and bits and pieces of trash from places I’ve lived, from places I love, from travels-from the walls and streets of crumbling cities, from the bottoms of old wooden fishing boats, from the highways spanning the deserts of the American southwest, salvage from a variety of places and cultures. 

 Following a path laid out by Kurt Schwitters, I transform my findings, alchemize them, into compositions of my own, adding treasured moments to the archives of my mind, evoking treasured places.”
